The theme of the 2017 World Diabetes Day is Diabetes in Women. The aim is to spread awareness among women in all walks of life about diabetes. The incidence of diabetes in men and women is the same. However, women are at greater risk of developing cardiovascular complications associated with diabetes. Social constraints often make women less likely to take care of their health, get regular check ups, stay active and eat healthy. However, the care and nurturing of other family members lies mainly on her shoulders. Being aware, proactive and alert will help her and the future generations live healthier, happier and better quality of life.
So educate yourself, uplift yourself, and create a better tomorrow for everyone.
